Master- Lee Feng San

*Shifu

Lee Feng San Shifu, a well-known martial artist and Qigong master, was brought up in a family with a long gongfu tradition.  As a child, he learned Chinese gongfu from his father and from several other masters of different schools of martial arts.

In the 1970s, Lee Shifu started to teach traditional Chinese gongfu and yangshengshu (methods of nourishing the vital principles) to the public, with the hope that people will benefit from what he had learned.  He teaches people ways to gain better health and higher spiritual strength with simple Qigong exercises, emphasizing both internal self-cultivation and external exercises.  Students from all over the country come for his lessons and his reputation has grown steadily over the years.

In 1987, Lee Shifu was invited by a group of scientists from the National Science Council (NSC) to participate in a series of Qigong experiments.  The miraculous power of qi was scientifically proven in the project, and the results of these experiments have received international recognition.  Lee Shifu’s contribution to scientific research has since become a legend.

Currently, Lee Shifu is in charge of the Meimen Qigong Culture Center, where Qigong and gongfu classes are offered to the public on a regular basis.  He is also invited by many companies, organizations, and institutions to teach Qigong outside the center as well as on television.  He has also published several books on Chinese yangshengshu and Chinese gongfu.

Furthermore, through the Center, Lee Shifu wishes to educate the public about the timeless values of Chinese art and culture and their relevance to the modern world.  He founded Meimen Gong Fu Art House in 2002 and has been producing innovative performances that combine drama, performance arts, and martial arts.  His devotion to the preservation and development of Chinese culture has received international recognition.  Lee Shifu received the “Eighth Global Chinese Culture and Arts Award” in 2000.  In 2004 he was inducted into the “Fifth Annual World Wide Martial Arts Hall of Fame” in the USA and received the prestigious “Pioneer Legend Award.”

Lee Shifu has a dream.  His dream is to build an international school where people from all over the world can get together to exchange their cultural heritages and to learn ways to build a healthy body, create a peaceful mind, and maintain a body/mind balance.  Ultimately, this school will bring us one step closer to a better and more peaceful world.  We hope this dream will come true with help from similar thinking people - like you!

* “Shi” means teacher; “fu” means father.  “Shifu” is a teacher who teaches not only knowledge and gong fu, but also a philosophy of life.  In Chinese, a person’s title follows after his family name.
